I will start by saying I was in the insurance industry for 8 and 1/2 years dealing with Claims, Underwriting, and Damage Adjusting. In all that time dealing with customers and other insurance companies, I have never had the displeasure of an experience as I have had with SCA Appraisal or more specifically, Edvin O. I am not sure if he is legally blind, unfit for duty, a liar, or just plain lazy. Perhaps all four.

He had the simple task of assessing my vehicle which was in a 15 mph fender bender and has manage to not only get the damage wrong, but when totaling the car out, not assessing the value properly. When he arrived at Caliber Collision, he started assessing and noting the rear of the vehicle and had to be directed to the damaged front end by the mechanic on duty. There was no rear damage. He spent 9 minutes looking at the car, minimally investigating it, and then deemed it a total loss. He stated that my 2015 BMW 320i had no sunroof, no navigation, no backup camera and no satellite radio. All of which are equipped. When my insurance company came back with the comp, I was stunned...until I looked at the report and saw my missing equipment. I asked my insurance company to send him again to confirm what I know is there. EDVIN O. TOLD THEM HE WENT A 2ND TIME AND THAT INDEED THERE WAS NONE OF THE ABOVE OPTIONS.

I have witnessed war as a veteran, my child being born as a father, and viewed a million stars in the Milky Way sky while on a boat in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. None of those events have stunned me more in comparison than the sheer depth of ineptitude and the willful disregard for being correct that is Edvin O. of SCA Appraisal Company. Derelict of duty and gross negligence comes to mind.

To be clear: this is NOT on my insurance company other than their poor choice of subcontractors for damage evaluation.

It has been 45 days since the accident and there is no resolution to this matter. If you are an insurance company or anyone looking to have a car evaluated, BE SURE TO STEER CLEAR OF SCA APPRASIAL COMPANY as they apparently hire less than standard workers who have worse vision and competency than former MLB umpire Angel Hernandez.

Horrible company!! The appraiser said my damage was worth $600 and that was to replace the head light, hood and bumper.How? It took him 3 weeks to finish the appraisal I got three different estimates and they were 3k-5k

They don’t even know who my truck belongs to. When they sent me a message, they listed my father’s name for some reason. My truck has been in my name under my own insurance for 3+ years, and they’re claiming my father was in the accident and that the truck is his. Genuinely think this company is a scam, there’s no way they’re this incompetent.

This company handled my auto accident for USAA insurance. They are absolutely incompetent. They shorted the final bill $5,000 on a $23,000 repair on my brand new 2023 Rav4. (Did not even have license plates wben I was hit!.) Now I am stranded without a car because i dont have $5000 bill to get my car back After reviewing the document providing the detail for every rejected line item, the exclusions ate arbitrary. These guys don't know anything about Washington State body shop costs and now I have to file a complaint with the state insurance commission and get an independent review to audit their work. I the meantime, it's fuzzy who.psys the storage fees at thr body shop and the car rental extension. Time to get a lawyer. Sadly, SCA won't be held accountable except I hope that USAA sees problems and cancels their contract.
UPDATE: I dug deep now that their delay to USAA has passed 6 week mark. They flat out lied to USAA property adjuster that the shop is being difficult. 1. There has not been 1call placed to the shop. 2. 12 days after the shop sent close out documents when car was done, Mirza came to the shop for tear down photos. Those were sent months earlier when the teardown actually happened to get the supplements. Weird. The shop sent them again the same day of this delayed visit. Mirza has 2 email addresses. Hmmm. I received a hang up call from Mirza, making it look like he made contact with client. This person is a deceitful liar trying to cover up. The shop is certified by BMW Mercedes etc and keeps meticulous records and records phone calls. The admin manager used to do health care insurance billing and knows hiw to document. SCA and Mirza assume all body shops are poor records keepers or communicators. They are sadly mistaken and will be exposed with the OIC investigation. USAA WOULD BE SMART TO DUMP THESE INCOMPETENT LIARS.

Wow. Seeing all these one star ratings made me feel a little better. I thought it was something I said. Worst customer experience since Verizon last Christmas. My son was rear ended, so I was filing a claim with the other driver's insurance company. I had no choice but to deal with SCA. First time, adjuster scheduled to meet me at home to take pics. The day came and went, no show, no call. I called him three times that day with no response. finally got him he next day and rescheduled. When I asked him why he no showed me, he said "...we don't come out unless we confirm the car is at the location". Okay so how do you confirm? "We call either the company or the owner." Did you call either? "No." Now I need to schedule an inspection at the body shop to reveal all the damage. No word from SCA for almost two weeks. Finally, a guy named Gudmundur Bjomsson is assigned my case on June 3. Can't reach Guddy for days when he finally calls the body shop and schedules for June 14. The day comes and goes and no show, no call. I finally spoke with him yesterday, and in between copping an attitude he claims he never scheduled the June 14 appointment which is BS. Avoid these guys at all costs. hey now.

My experience has been horrible. The appraiser has not reached out nor responded to my multiple inquiries regarding having my vehicle appraised. A delivery truck hit my parked vehicle which is undrivable. I was told someone would be there to appraise my vehicle within 24-48hrs. I was hit 4 days ago. Again, no communication. This has to be a joke.

Although we don’t have this insurance. I was rear ended and went through this company. It took about a week and a half for them to come out because they had no one in my area. After the process the adjuster sent in the quote to the insurance company the next day, now it’s just the waiting game on how long it’ll take to cut the check. The accident took place 8-19 it’s 9-1. I’ll post an update once everything is done and over with.

I worked with Michael in Fresno, ca. He was generally nice when we spoke and fairly helpful. The only issue I had was it took them almost 2 weeks just to "find my vin number" in their system. Other than that they did fairly well by me.
