I have had great experiences here both as a buyer & consignor! All of the staff is helpful & friendly. The buyer does need to preview items if you want pristine furniture! There maybe a few dings but anything major is shown in their online pictures. I have gotten so excellent deals here on beautiful furniture both vintage & contemporary. They have two auctions a month with everything pictured online. Easy to call to make payment for purchases & they also pay quickly for consigned items. I highly recommend this auction house! I really appreciate Matt & how he runs this business.

Many people have to understand that your stuff is not as valuable as you THINK it is!!! The market dictates-
South Coast Can only get what the market will bare.
They have a huge operation, and accommodate pretty good all things considered.
Highly recommended if you need some money and need to sell your things.

I have shopped and made some wonderful purchases everything from Furniture to bullet proof sheets of plywood. As always you can stop in and see it for yourself the items before they go up for sale and in some situations even buy them before they go on sale in the online auction. Most of the people have worked there for 20 years the same amount of time I’ve been going it’s always great to see if familiar face. If you have things to sell I recommend South Coast Auction. I Especially appreciate the online auction now.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at South Coast Auction recently. I contacted the store yesterday to ask about the availability of display cases for selling over 200 Lladro and Royal Copenhagen figurines. I was told to call back in the afternoon for confirmation, and when I did at 3:30 PM, I was assured that seven display cases were available. Based on this information, I carefully packed all my 200 figurines and brought them to the store today.

However, upon arrival, an employee named Carlos informed me that only one display case was available. When I insisted on checking, it was confirmed by the office that seven cases were indeed available. When I expressed my frustration, Carlos responded with hostility, using offensive language and even suggesting a physical confrontation. This behavior is utterly unacceptable.

I had no choice but to take my collection back home, resulting in considerable inconvenience and frustration. This entire situation reflects a severe lack of communication and professionalism within the team.

I hope the management takes immediate action to address this issue and ensure that no other customer experiences such poor service. This kind of unprofessional behavior should not be tolerated, and improvements in internal communication are necessary.
